The High Costs of Healthcare in the United States

The United States healthcare system is characterized by exceptionally high costs, unregulated drug pricing, the lack of a universal healthcare system, and inefficiencies that limit access and burden individuals financially. Compared to other developed nations like the UK, which implement cost-control measures and universal coverage to ensure affordability, the US system relies on market-driven approaches. This paper examines the factors contributing to these issues and explores potential reforms inspired by international models to create a more equitable and sustainable healthcare system.
